Resistant maltodextrin syrup (tapioca) is a kind of water-soluble dietary fiber made from starch as raw material and refined through a certain degree of hydrolysis, polymerization, separation and other steps. It is a low-calorie glucan. It has low calories, good solubility and is slightly sweet. After absorbing water, the volume increases and there is a strong feeling of fullness. In 2012, it was approved as a general food by China's Ministry of Health.
Resistant maltodextrin syrup (tapioca) contains dietary fiber, most of which cannot be digested and absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract and does not produce energy.
Resistant maltodextrin syrup (tapioca) can delay and inhibit the absorption and digestion of sugars in the small intestine, and prevent the diffusion and absorption of sugars in the intestine. It can also change the secretion of digestive tract hormones, inhibit the absorption of sugar, and achieve the purpose of lowering blood sugar.
As a low molecular weight water-soluble dietary fiber, resistant maltodextrin syrup (tapioca) can significantly reduce blood cholesterol and the risk of atherosclerosis. Continuous intake can also reduce serum cholesterol and neutral fat concentrations and body fat mass.
Resistant maltodextrin syrup (tapioca) can increase stool volume and soften stool, thereby improving constipation.
